How It Works
Sign up for Kettle to submit basic information about your watch and receive loan estimates based on historic lending data on Kettle.

Ship Your Watch for Authentication and Vaulting

Ship your watch to 4K Protocol, a Kettle Partner, for authentication and storage.

Create Terms & List Your Watch

Create a loan listing for your watch and set your desired principal amount, interest rate, and loan duration.

Lenders will either match your desired terms or submit their own loan offers.

Once you accept a loan offer, the lender funds are transferred into directly into your account and your watch is placed in escrow.

Maintain & Repay Your Loan

Repay your loan by the repayment date and withdraw your watch from the vault or start another loan!
In Case of Default
Failure to repay your loan will result in your asset being transferred to the lender and you’ll no longer be able to withdraw your watch from the vault.

What kinds of timepieces does Kettle support?

Since Kettle only supports authenticated watches, we are currently only providing support for the following watch brands: Audemars Piguet, Rolex, Patek Phillipe, Omega, and Richard Millie.

Where does capital for my loan come from?

Your loans are funded by other peers who are interested in earning yield by providing cash against your assets.

What happens if I fail to repay my loan by the repayment date?

Failure to repay your loan will result in your asset being transferred to the lender and you’ll no longer be able to withdraw your watch from the vault.

Can I extend my repayment date?

If you are unable to repay your loan, you’ll be given a 30-day grace period to repay the full amount in addition to penalty fees. If you fail to repay by the end of your grace period, your watch is transferred to the lender.

Where is the watch stored during the loan?

Assets on Kettle’s lending marketplace are currently vaulted with 4K Protocol. Learn more about their vault and authentication practices here.

How do I redeem my watch from the vault?

You can redeem your watch from 4K’s vault by following the steps within the 4K app. Items are usually shipped via next-day air for expedited delivery. Learn more here.
